Lubby the Cat needs a home
Lubby was returned by her last adopter - honestly, it was said to us that we misrepresented her. But this is what we've said about her below... we have written more about Lubby than most any kitty in our care. We pointed out her flaws and made it clear that she needs TIME and PATIENCE. Please share her story and if you are interested, you must give her space to learn to trust you. This means months, not days. She will not be an instantly loving kitty. Here's her bio:
Another special girl who is getting passed up due to her not liking her situation. Won't you please pass on her story for us so some lucky, kind soul will step up and graciously love her like she deserves and wants so badly? Please read on.. she's quite wonderful!!!
Lubby is gorgeous, full-figured longhair, about 5 years old. Lubby is a polydactyl, and with those extra toes comes quite a personality.
"After living with me for four months she was the most perfectly typical cat. She learned how to share with others and it tugged at my heart to put her back up for adoption. But I needed to know how she would be in an adopter's home. I can honestly put my stamp of approval on this girl -- that she will have a successful life once she is adopted with a patient, understanding adopter. She is a lovely girl."

She was attentive and affectionate in her foster home and is a very strong-willed girl. She can make friends with some kitties, but mostly the passive ones. She started to cuddle up with her foster mom and get really cozy. What Lubby needs is a room of her own where she can just be herself. (A room with a view would be a plus.)
Here in the center she enjoys petting and playing when she has the room to herself. Shy of strangers, Lubby might need a little time to get to know you before she lets you get to know her. We truly believe she wants to be that happy and attentive cat again. She just needs the right human.
Lubby is a gorgeous, voluptuous, girlie girl who loves to be showered with attention. She waits for her humans to come home (in the foster setting) to shower them with adoration. Lubby is a wonderfully affectionate and very personable kitty and she will run to her fosters and volunteers, but isn't always happy to share them with others.
She has come to know her caregivers and will rub up on their hands, but strange faces at the window can frighten her and she can hiss and spit. We keep telling the children "She's not mean. She's scared."
This fear makes it difficult to introduce Lubby to potential adopters. But where else can she be seen? We are hoping for someone who understands the dilemma and is willing to take her home and help her to be that happy and attentive cat once again.
If you're looking for a loving, adult kitty that she will someday be for the right person, Lubby could be the one for you! Should you find in siz months that she's not coming around for you, we will take her back and try again. She is at the Napa Petco currently.
We have two locations to view our kitties: Napa Petco and Vacaville Petco. Sometimes kitties move locations or go into foster for a break. Please stop by our two locations to look at kitties any day, and then come into our adoption events on the weekends.
